Density

Have you ever wondered why a heavy metal boat floats on water but a little rock sinks?
The reason this occurs is because of density. Density is equaled to mass divided by volume, which is how much mass per unit volume the object has. Salt water is more dense than spring water or tap water because the salt is added mass and adds density.
